SPLASH - Our Fund Raising Event

Traditionally in March of each year we sponsor a fund raising gala, silent auction and party which we have named "SPLASH". Net of direct expenses, all of the funds are set aside to be distributed to charitable organizations locally in Huntington Beach, or regionally in Orange County, and some internationally. 50% of the net proceeds go directly to the Boys and Girls club of Huntington Valley (https://bgchv.com), the club's primary charity we support.The rest of the money is allocated to various other qualifying charities throughout the next year. None of the funds are used for club expenses, as they are paid by the membership via quarterly dues.

Shoe Project for Kids from Huntington Valley Boys & Girls Club

Our joint, twice yearly Shoe Project sends 150 young, school-age children from low income families, back to school with new shoes. This is one of our many worthwhile and fun most projects.

After shopping for new shoes, Huntington Valley Boys & Girls Club busses the kids, and their parents, back to the Delaware Club where Surf City Rotary Grill Masters have barbecued over 250 hot dogs!

The world is now more than 99% polio-free.

Since Rotary helped launch the polio eradication initiative, polio cases have fallen from 350,000 a year in 125 countries to just a handful in only two countries.

Our Club personally got involved with the administering of the polio vaccine in Mexico. You are welcome to join us in helping to make a difference!
